    How to choose the right softball for your game

    Choosing the right softball will depend on a few things; your level of experience, how old you are and how often you want to play.

    • Consider the size -  Softball sizes range from 11 inches to 12 inches or 28cm- 30.5cm in circumference. 12 inches is the most common size for adult softballs, whereas younger players may choose the smaller one.
    • The weight - Softball weights range from 5 to 7 ounces or 141g-200g. The weight of the ball will affect how it feels when you hit it, so it's important to find a weight that you're comfortable with.
    • What the softball is made of - Softball cores can be made of rubber, cork, or a combination of the two. Rubber cores are more durable, while cork cores provide more of a "live" feel. Softball covers can be made of leather, synthetic leather, or composite materials. Leather covers provide the best feel and performance, but they are also the most expensive. Synthetic leather and composite covers are less expensive and more durable.
